New Data Worth Analysis was performed to evaluate optimal locations for new monitoring wells to improve 29 different model predictions, shown on the map as squares (groundwater levels) or triangles (baseflows). To view New Data Worth for a model prediction, clear the current selection (if the “Clear Selection” button is present in the Map Layers box), and then click the marker symbol for the prediction.
The New Data Worth values are expressed as a normalized reduction in model prediction uncertainty, with values near 1 indicating an almost complete (near 100%) reduction in prediction uncertainty (high data worth), and zero values indicating no reduction in model prediction uncertainty. Clusters of higher data worth indicate the best locations for new monitoring well, from the standpoint of improving the groundwater model.
